What To Get Vinyl Lovers For Christmas
Obviously, you could buy vinyl junkies more records for Christmas, but they probably already own too many. Soooo, next best thing, these journals with covers made from old records. Get them from Love Shine.

The Crunch by Charles Bukowski
too much
too little
or too late
too fat
too thin
or too bad
laughter or
tears
or immaculate
unconcern
haters
lovers
armies running through streets of pain
waving wine bottles
bayoneting and fucking everyone
or an old guy in a cheap quiet room
with a photograph of Marilyn Monroe.
there is a loneliness in this world so great
that you can see it in the slow movement of
a clock's hands.
there is a loneliness in this world so great
that you can see it in blinking neon
in Vegas, in Baltimore, in Munich.
people are tired
strafed by life
mutilated either by lover or no
love.
we don't need new governments
new revolutions
we don't need new men
new women
we don't need new ways
we just need to care.
people are not good to each other
one on one.
people are just not good to each other.
we are afraid.
we think that hatred signifies
strength.
that punishment is
love.
what we need is less false education
what we need are fewer rules
fewer police
and more good teachers.
we forget the terror of one person
aching in one room
alone
unkissed
untouched
cut off
watering a plant alone
without a telephone that would never
ring
anyway.
people are not good to each other
people are not good to each other
people are not good to each other
and the beads swing and the clouds obscure
and dogs piss upon rose bushes
the killer beheads the child like taking a bite
out of an ice cream cone
while the ocean comes in and goes out
in and out
in the thrall of a senseless moon.
and people are not good to each other.

Men and Contraception
Great article about men and contraception. And when I say men and contraception, I mean how little they know about it.

Topman's Domestic Violence T-shirt
Following last week's JC Penney my brother has to do my homework for me T-shirt, this week we have Topman giving us a domestic violence humour T-shirt:
"It wasn't my fault...you provoked me"? Yeah, that's hilarious. The question is why and how are these t-shirts even getting made? Who are the screwed up people buying and producing these? Can they not read? Soon there will be so many stores that need to be boycotted there will be nothing left to buy. Which is probably not such a bad thing.

Modcloth Are Idiots
Modcloth, sponsor of every style blogger everywhere, is suggesting you buy their $275 Trip to Tansy-nia Skirt to wear whilst volunteering in Tanzania.
They suggest that if you wear this skirt "you'll be loved by Tanzania locals for more than just your helping hands!" Seriously dudes, fire your copywriter.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Does acupuncture hurt? Yes and no, is the answer.
Okay, let's expand on that a little. I recently started having acupuncture for back pain, and was worried about how painful it was going to be, but couldn't really find a definitive answer. That's because there isn't really a definitive answer, it very much depends on the individual's condition and sensitivity. I found that it's not generally painful when the needles are being inserted, they are very thin and you just don't really feel them. However if they are inserted into a muscle which is really tense, well...yeah you're going to know about it. I've found that the after effects are more painful than during the procedure, I feel "bruised" for couple of days afterwards and the affected area feels really aggravated. So now you know.

Facial Exercises
One of the many things I should have saved up for in life was Botox, but alas I didn't, which leaves me only with the option of facial exercising. Try this sequence of facial yoga, you too can look like a fool alongside me.
And I've just followed this video and now my face hurts:

Lulzsec News International The Sun
A brief synopsis of what happened tonight with @lulzsec: The Sun's site was hacked and they put up a fake front page announcing Rupert Murdoch's (fake) death, before it redirected to their twitter account. News International then took all their sites off server to prevent any further attacks. Now you may be wondering "What is Lulzsec, who are they, what do they do?" - all is explained here.

Catfession Time
I don't like cats. Like, I really don't like cats, I don't want to use the word hate but I definitely abhor them. Why don't you like cats, you may or may not ask? Because I find them to be selfish, arrogant, manipulative, violent, and they always have stinky, milky tuna, breath. In these regards I find them to be a lot like men (miaow indeed).
Due to my dislikery (yeah I made that word up, it's the internet you can do that here) of cats I often feel like I don't belong on the internet in particular on Tumblr, where apparently everyone is a cat lover if not a crazy cat lady. My cat loathing means that I don't post pictures of cats, nor will I ever be hitting a like or heart button to approve of your kitty posting. But anyway, last night I was searching ebay for sequin cardigans (see you like cats, I like sequins) and behold and lo I discovered some sequined cat cardigans.
Now obviously I'm not going to buy either of these cardigans, because, you know, not feeling the feline. But there it is Catladies and Catmenz, I posted some pictures of cats to the internet and finally I feel like I belong.

Best Products For Frizzy Hair
So, today we are going to talk about the best products to use on frizzy hair. Do you know what works for frizzy hair, what makes it manageable? I will tell you...NOTHING. Nothing works on frizzy hair, no products do what they promise. I have been running tests on myself for at least 157 years, I've tried products that haven't even been created yet. Frizzy hair will always be frizzy, that's all there is to it.
So there you go I just saved you a whole lot of money. You're welcome.

Would you wear a used bikini?
So I was browsing through ebay and happened upon this bikini, which has been worn, and so I stopped to ask myself whether I would wear a used bikini. And then I noticed this line in the description "It's got a slight mark on the pants." (I'm not even making this up!) At which point my quandry was answered.

Free Screen Capture Software
So in this month's annoying news I found out that Windows 7 Starter doesn't have a snipping tool which, quite frankly Microsoft, is ridiculous. I've been using Fastone Capture but my 30 day trial ran out today, so I'm about to go and investigate other options and start compiling a list of the best ones. Tracey Emin at The Hayward Gallery
Darlings, let's have a little art on a Wednesday. Until the 29th August 2011, you can catch Tracey Emin's Love is What You Want at The Hayward Gallery. I'm not going. Shall I tell you why I'm not going? Because it's £12 to get into and I don't have spare £20 notes to waste on afternoons out to galleries. And to be honest The Southbank Centre is a charity which receives funding from The Lottery and The Arts Council, and consequently it should be making art accessible to all. It doesn't and therefore I can't and won't get behind it.

Julia Allison Wants An Intern To Write Her Column For Her
Sooooo, Julia Allison seems to be blowing her own proverbial trumpet again, with the announcement of her new column courtesy of Tribune Media Services. Not sure why that's such a big deal, but hey, some people really do believe that all publicity is good publicity. In fact, here she is in the video below for WGN News, talking all about how wonderful social media is, using perfect examples like how useful it's been in Egypt. Ahem, if only someone would turn the internet back on. Let's take 3 minutes to watch Julia's pearls before we continue:
So now that Julia, Social Media Expert has this column in which to expertly write about social media, what does she need? She needs someone to write it for her that what she needs:
Call me old fashioned, but I remember I time when people used to do their own work, and if people cheated they used to keep it on the down low. Perhaps Julia could write (or get her intern to write) a column about Faking Your Whole Internet Persona.

French Vogue, Swan Lake
So everyone is blogging about Emmanuelle Alt taking over from Carine Roitfeld at the helm of Vogue Paris. This is pretty irrelevant news to most people's lives. However, what I do think is interesting, judging from this photo of Carine and Ms Alt, is that clearly there's a White Swan, Black Swan situation going on here.

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Until it stops making you stronger and starts to kill you, basically.

Big Sneaker Pimpin'
LOVE these sneakers by Christian Louboutin even though they were meant for boys. Unfortunately they're now sold out. They were selling for a mere $900. Huh? How the hell did they sell out? Who can buy $900 leopardskin sneakers other than Kanye West?
Julia Allison Tries To Clean Up Her Dirty Internet History
Klassy. Assy. Also, gross. |
Julia Allison likes to refer to herself as a "media personality", but in reality she's nothing but a media manipulator. In a typical entitled princess fashion, she tried to make a name for herself by being famous just for sticking her tits and ass in people's faces (see attached photos). With a new column starting in The Chicago Tribune (which she will no doubt get her mother to edit, as she has previously admitted about her other "work"), and a new relationship with Jack McCain (as part of her desperate quest to find a rich husband), she is currently attempting not just to scrub the internet of her unethical past, but also silence all criticism of her:

The Hypocrisy and Lies of Julia Allison - an exposition
So Julia Allison, Donkey is dating Jack McCain, son of Senator John McCain, which is another story. But on December 23rd, 2010 when Gawker brought this to public attention, Julia Allison stated "she has no plans to blog about the relationship over at NonSociety." Fast forward a whole 8 days and Julia posts at least 10 photos of "my boyfriend, my boyfriend, my boyfriend." This is so typical of her behavior, she'll do something like that and then claim her privacy is being invaded.
Julia Allison Annoying, continues
I don't like Julia Allison for a whole heap of reasons, but particularly right now I'm hating on her for the fact that she thinks she has the right to silence all criticism of her that appears on the internet - read about current issue at http://blog.alanajoy.com/i-might-not-like-everything-you-have-to-say-but-ill-fight-to-the-death-for-a-cat-ladys-right-to-say-it . I don't, and thankfully never will, understand what goes on in the mind of someone who demonstrates NPD, but what really irks me about these people is that they never seem to understand that if people are criticising you, they are doing it for a reason. And so onwards to my next post, where we start to demonstrate the guiling hypocrisy of Miss Julia Allison.
