Shephard Fairey Mural Vandalized

The damage that's been done to the Shephard Fairey mural at the Deitch gallery has become phenomenal. I'm going to backtrack a history to it when I get the time, which isn't right now.

This is the Os Gemeos mural which is hiding underneath Fairey's piece.

The Keith Haring mural which took the spot previously.

What I Wore.

I don't like the What I Wore blog (waving at the google alert). In fact I don't like this whole generation of mainly girls, whose primary purpose in life seems to be photographing themselves all day and posting it to a blog. Someone needs to come up with a term for this sort of blogging. But seriously,  not even facetiously, photographing and looking at pictures of yourself all day has got to be some new kind of mental disorder; it will probably appear in the DSM in about 10 years time, guarantee it.

New Shoes

These shoes are kind of beautifug. And I'm loving the sequinned socks. From the Cynthia Rowley Resort 2011 collection, if that means anything to any of you. Does this mean that chunky heels are back? Does anybody care?

Lacking in Charitini?

So Rachel Sklar of Mediaite and Charitini is selling her clothes on craigslist, ten big, whole bags of the stuff. Now really, when you want people to just buy big, whole, bags of unspecified clothes it's time to get up and take those bags to a charity shop.

Anita Baker

That's so cute that Anita Baker has become the hottest search on Google Trends after singing at the NBA finals. Everyone had forgotten about her right? Okay so here are the youtube links to Sweet Love and Rapture.

Never forget Anita Baker!

American Apparel wants Supermodels. To work in their stores.

American Apparel will only hire you if you look the part, Prada fire their staff when they no longer look the part, and Soho House only want members who are under the age of 27. So if you're ugly and over 28 you might as well die now.
Um, hello American Apparel, supermodels don't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day, not minimum wage.

New York City budget dictates that you are not allowed to be suicidal during a recession.

So after the closure of a major hospital, with the threat of library closures looming, The City of New York now wants to shut down suicide prevention hotline The Samaritans to further reduce budget deficits. There is well documented link between unemployment, deprivation, depression and suicide, and with the unemployment rate still over 10% in NYC, The City couldn't be looking to close this line at a worse time.

Hire someone to wait in the Shake Shack line for you...

Ah New York, the city where you can get everything, except probably a job and enough money to pay the rent. But for the Richie Rich's amongst you ZipGigs will pick up whatever you want from wherever you want (within legal reason I presume).

That said, there appears to be no line today according to the Shake Cam:
